The Challenge
The existing roof substrate at a commercial retail store in Greenford had failed, causing blocked gutters and outlets. The project needed to consider both the condition of the roof covering and the affected drainage areas.
Cut edge corrosion treatment was also required at the roof-sheet joints and end laps. These junctions formed part of the roof's requirements alongside the wider waterproofing scope.
The works took place at a live store with no storage areas or roof access. Access and egress therefore needed a bespoke arrangement rather than relying on an existing route onto the roof.
Our Approach
We surveyed the roof to establish the condition of the existing covering and associated details before specifying the waterproofing system.
A liquid waterproofing system was specified for the 1,100m² roof area and its details. The installation scope also included the gutters, bringing the roof covering and gutter waterproofing into the same project.
Bespoke scaffolding design from a plant deck was required to provide access and egress for the works. This addressed the access requirement at the live retail site.
The Result
The four-week project delivered liquid waterproofing across the 1,100m² roof and its gutters.
A 20-year manufacturer's product guarantee was achieved for the liquid waterproofing system installed on this project.
